Desc: Raising Sunshine: Directed by Alexsiya Flora. Raising Sunshine is a feature documentary about co-parenting and bringing up an artist and dancer into the world. Alexsiya Flora and Claudiu Dihel met in January 2020, 2 months later, Alexsiya is pregnant. This is Alexsiya's first child at 39 years old and Claudiu's 4th. Two artists destined to meet and now they have the wonderful privilege and responsibility to bring up Sunshine through the pandemic in the world of internet stardom. When Alexsiya went to the doctor while she was pregnant the first thing they said was you have a little dancer. Three years later Sunshine loves dancing up a storm not only at home but everywhere she goes, grocery stores, restaurants, and even the local farmers market. At 9 months she is introduced to painting and is a natural, first thing in the morning she loves diving into the paint from watercolor to tempera to acrylic. Growing up being co-parented is not always easy but each step is a lesson forward. This California baby loves water, going to the park, and taking walks around city blocks but also has extended family in Texas where she gets to enjoy the simple life where visiting a farm to get milk and fresh eggs from the cows and chickens are commonplace. While her Mom and Dad balance work and parenting, Sunshine finds herself at learning dance, gymnastics, crafts and how to socialize with others her age. Unsure at first how to transition into a new environment, she learns to open up to create new loving relationships with her new teachers and friends.
